Best Wooden Watch
I chose the beautiful 'Sully' Red Sandalwood & Maple. It has a bubbled bezel which gives it a great shape to stand out on the wrist. The wide band with the two tones of the wood give it a cool casual style. So far, it has worked beautifully with everything I have worn with it. Several times out and around on our vacation, I was complimented constantly on its beauty and uniqueness.

Before I agreed to this partnership, I had to research a little about Jord. What I discovered, Jord is not your typical watch company. Obviously, making a wood watch is a unique idea. However, they are centered around the artistry of making a timepiece that captures moments not just time. Focused on the modern lifestyle, they value sustainability and functionality with a sense of beauty. Being an artist-driven company, the pieces have a unique styling and care to each one. How Jord gifted me more quality time.
I am not a usual watch wearing person, I realized I have become addicted to checking my phone for 'time'. Constantly, throughout the day, I refer to my phone to check the time. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I would then quickly check e-mail or Facebook, regardless of where I was or who I was with. This is probably my biggest challenge as a mother. Because, in lew of checking the time, I would find myself distracted by my phone and not pay attention to my children or husband. I am so thankful for this little wooden box, and now I don't need to pull my phone. Instead, I check this beautiful timepiece. After wearing this watch, my family have noticed I have been more aware of them and less focused on my 'stupidphone.'
Being a work at home mom, schedules are a must for my day. If I don't keep everyone on track, several balls in the air fall. However, my tendency to be distracted has always been a challenge for me. In that little wooden box is a package of extra links and pins, just in case the personal fitting is not correct for you. I would suggest when ordering, go 1/2 cm larger than what you think fits. It's amazing how the body changes a little everyday. I will probably be taking it to a jeweler just to make that one adjustment as it was a little snug after long hot days, and that is due to my mis-measurement only. However with this watch everything you would need is in the package. Also included is a limited 1-year warranty card, a fun card about sharing your watch with the world via social media, the extra links, and a cleansing cloth to keep it beautiful.
Is Dad a tech pro?
In this day of watches that count our steps and connect to our phones, sometimes a wooden watch may seem not a great idea for a tech lover. However, this wrist watch is a breath of fresh air to the gadget guy. The beauty and uniqueness of the craftsmanship will help him stand out in a sea of Apple and Droid watches. The insides are very up to date and efficient. My watch includes a Citizen Miyota quartz. My husband, being the techie that he is, researched this quartz and found it is one of the most efficient around. He has informed me, that he now wants a Jord watch for Father's Day. He's a computer programmers, so his geeky side praises the extra-efficiency in such a light weight watch.
I know for me, finding the most unique gift to fit who he is can be the hardest thing. Seems like every year it gets to be harder and harder. Being on vacation, I was able to put this watch through its paces. When I first put on the watch, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the light weight of it. It has the weight of a light beaded bracelet. Other designer watches I have put on tended to weigh my wrist down. However, several times on my trip I actually was surprised I was still wearing it was so light.

Versatility & function while on vacation.
Although I was excited to test this watch, I was a little worried. It is so beautiful and well, I knew I was going to get sweaty and be in sticky weather. I almost felt like it was too pretty to throw into our long days walking around the sticky and humid Washington D.C.
Yet, the 'Sully' didn't disappoint. As I wore the watch, again the light weight nature of it made it easy to function around town. Grateful that Jord recommends it was splashproof, I knew it was safe on our rainy or extra humid days. Not a single time did it feel sticky or uncomfortable amidst the first 'heat wave' of 2016.
A bit of a bracelet addict, I did make sure to wear some new combination each day with my vacation outfits. As you can see, the 'Sully' goes well with everything! Functionally it fit into my everyday life and was easy to operate while feeling stylish.
So, did the 'Sully' fit in my life?
Yes, in fact, this made the perfect accessory for my lifestyle. As a busy mom, anything that demands my attention takes away from my task at hand, raising my kids to be the best people they can become. Products need to be worthy of my attention.
