Avon Mega Effects Mascara Review

Many people say you have to LOVE all your Avon products since you sell them. No, I don't love ALL the Avon products, in fact there are several I'm not that crazy about. However, this review is a little easier for me as I do love this mascara.

Personally, I don't do a lot with my makeup. I have a standard route I go to: concealer, foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. If for some reason I am going somewhere, I always make sure I wear mascara. With my straight, thin lashes, mascara seems to add more life back into my eyes.

So. when you open the package the first thing you notice different is the weird shape. It looks more like a lipstick or blush stick shape than a mascara. Following the instructions on the box, you pop the red lid off and rock the brush side to side, then pull. This is important as there is a seal that breaks if you just yank it out of the bottle. Finally you pull out the funky brush.

What I love about the funky brush is the coverage. It applies the mascara on almost your entire eyelash line. I say almost as I still find myself having to strain to get the little lashes.

Here I am, before the Mega Effects mascara. As you can see, I have 'barely there' eyelashes (and I did a bad eyeliner job, but that's a whole other review).

When I decided I was doing this review, I didn't consider the trouble of trying to put on mascara and take pictures. (next time I will do a video).


So, at this point, when I am putting on the mascara, one thing to note, it's a very thin formula. Most of the complaints I hear about volumizing mascaras are how clumpy they are, and how gross people feel after applying them. The thin formula is a great asset for this complaint, as you can layer on the mascara to be as thick as you need it to be. This allows you to be in control of how thick you want your mascara. I love the ease it goes on. It really glides the formula on your lash. This funky brush truly is a dream to work with. Considering it covers 90% of the eye with equal coverage of mascara, it really gives a full lash impression.






So, my final product. As you can see below, I actually HAVE lashes! Again, I do not wear a ton of mascara, but love being able to actually frame my eyes with my lashes. This mascara delivers more per swipe to give you volume. It is also sweat-proof and non-flaking. I would have to say my only gripe would be since it is a thinner formula you build, it does tend to feel like it goes quicker. However, for the ease of application and the NO CLUMPS, I'm willing to endure it depleting faster. Plus, mascaras need to be changed every 3 months to protect from eye infections.
